Important Note

Both serum and urine are required. 

Serum must be collected no earlier than 72 hours before start of urine collection and no later than 72 hours after urine collection is completed.

Specimen Requirements

Urine and plasma or serum are required. Plasma or serum specimen must be drawn during the 24-hour period of urine collection.

 

Specimen Type: Urine, 24-hour collection

Container/Tube: Plastic urine container
Specimen Volume: Entire collection

Collection Instructions:

1. No preservative.

2. Refrigerate specimen during collection.

Additional Information:

1. Starting and ending times of collection are required.

2. Follow instructions in Urine Collection in Special Instructions.

 

Submit only 1 of the following specimens:

 

Specimen Type: Plasma

Container/Tube: Green top (lithium heparin)

Specimen Volume: 0.5 mL

Additional Information:

1. If #CREA Creatinine, Plasma or Serum has already been performed, please submit creatinine value with urine specimen.

2. Label specimen appropriately (plasma).

Container/Tube: Serum gel

Specimen Volume: 0.5 mL

Additional Information:
