25.0 mL. The first morning sample is preferred, although 24-hour collections are acceptable.

Remarks: 

It is recommended that a Urine Protein Electrophoresis analysis be ordered prior to immunofixation. If the urine protein electrophoresis is abnormal, the immunofixation will be performed. A pathologist will issue an interpretive report.
