Important Note

Effective 10/8/24 - Order QFT (LAB2820) AND TBGRN (LAB4529)

A total of five (5) labels will print for the one (1) tube collected. Place label with test code TBGRN on the tube, send all unused labels with the labeled green tube in a biohazard bag to the laboratory.
 

Note: Specimen may be held at room temperature for no more than 15 minutes before it needs to be refrigerated.

Specimen Requirements

Special 6.0 mL Lithium Heparin Collection Kit
Available from Laboratory

 

Collection Information: 

Collect full Greiner 6.0 mL Li Heparin tube with no gel that is provided in the TB Gold collection kit .  Refrigerate immediately.

TB Collection kits are available by contacting the Laboratory.

 

Outpatient Collection Kit example:

 

Transport Information: 

Transport original tube, do NOT aliquot. Refrigerate immediately, refrigerated specimen must be received at Pathology Laboratory within 48 hours of collection.

 

Minimum Sample Volume: 

5.0 mL of whole blood

 

Stability Comments: 

Prefer that sample is delivered within 24 hours of collection; however, sample must be delivered to Pathology Laboratory withing 48 hours of collection at refrigerated temperature.
