Positive specimens will reflex automatically to a titer - (SFCRTR)

 

Unless monitoring therapy for previous infection, the Cryptococcal Antigen Test should be used in conjunction with fungal culture, and is not an acceptable substitute for culture of CSF.

 

Unacceptable Conditions: 

Specimens in transit should remain at 2-8o C
