Specimen Requirements
Container/Tube Type:
Lavender (EDTA)
Collection Information:
Collect 4.5 mL in 5.0 mL, or 2.7 mL in 3.0 mL
Minimum Sample Volume:
1.4 mL in 5.0 mL, or 0.9 in 3.0 mL or, 0.4 mL in a microtainer
Remarks:
NOTE: If copy of CBC results not provided with sample, a CBC will be performed on specimen submitted. Please submit enough sample to include CBC testing and smear to be performed.
Tube should be inverted several times immediately after collection, mixing blood and anticoagulant, to prevent clotting.
