Specimen Requirements
Preferred Collection Container:
SST (Serum Separator)
Collection Information:
Collect blood in a serum separator tube.
Transport Information:
Centrifuge and aliquot 0.3 mL of serum into a plastic transport vial. Send refrigerated.
Minimum Sample Volume:
0.25 mL serum (approximately 0.5 mL of whole blood based upon a normal patient hematocrit).
Unacceptable Conditions:
Hemolysis or does not meet storage or transport requirements
