Specimen Requirements
Specimen must be drawn and arrive as soon as possible after delivery or trauma.
Patient must be wearing an identification bracelet. All specimens must be completely labeled in accordance with AABB requirements. Refer to “Blood Bank Specimens” under the Resources section.
Specimen Type: Whole blood
Container/Tube: Lavender or Pink Top EDTA
Specimen Volume: 4 mL
Collection Instructions:
1. Specimen must be drawn and arrive as soon as possible after delivery or trauma.
2. Invert several times to mix blood.
