Lime Green (Heparin Plasma Separator Tube)

SST (Serum Separator)

Preferred Collection Container: 

Green (Lithium Heparin)
Light Green (Heparin Plasma Separator Tube)

Collection Information: 

Do not use serum and heparinized plasma interchangeably from the same patient.

Transport Information: 

3.0 mL blood/1 mL serum or plasma. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.

Minimum Sample Volume: 

1.0 mL blood/160 ul serum or plasma

Unacceptable Conditions: 

Specimens collected in EDTA tubes
