Plasma from Lavender tubes is acceptable but will not route in the Laboratory Information System (Sunquest).

 

Transport Information: 

1 mL serum, frozen.

 

Minimum Sample Volume: 

0.5 mL

 

Remarks: 

Separate serum from cells ASAP. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. CA 125 II assay testing is not recommended as a screening procedure to diagnose cancer in the general population.

The testing method is an electrochemiluminescence assay manufactured by Roche Diagnostics Inc. and performed on the Cobas system. Values obtained with different assay methods or kits may be different and cannot be used interchangeably.
