Specimen Requirements

Preferred Collection Container: 

Lavender (EDTA) - Collect Two (2) Tubes

 

Also Acceptable Collection Container: 

Pink (K2EDTA)

 

Collection Information: 

Collect blood in a lavender (EDTA) tube. Pink (K2EDTA) also acceptable. Note: Two (2) Lavender (EDTA) tubes need to be collected to get 4.0 mL of EDTA blood for testing.

 

Transport Information: 

Send 4.0 mL of whole blood in original tube, refrigerated. Do not centrifuge or aliquot.

 

Minimum Sample Volume: 

4.0 mL of EDTA whole blood

 

Unacceptable Conditions: 

Frozen samples, serum samples
